10-18 Offline Design of Site (Start Having Ideas)

10. Offline Design of Site - discuss with client

We wil ordinarily have a second meeting to discuss this (as well as the initial free first meeting) before we start to discuss the overall brief.

11. Design logo

We will then begin work early on on this important stage in the process. We will come up with several ideas and then take a chosen logo to the second or even third stage of development. Before finalising for use.

13. Theme

The them of the website needs to be identified. We may do more than one. For example if we did 3 themes 1. More traditonal and formal 2. Something a bit more daring and eccentric and 3. Somewhere in the middle of the previous two.

Other than that themes can be such as modern, futuristic, outdoor, minimalistic and so on.

14. Stock Images

If a client has no photos to supply (or even if they do) a very important factor in the development of a website is the images that are used. And this can be quite a time consuming part of the process selecting and authoring images that are free of royalties and appropriate for use.

15. Colours (Pick which colours are to be used)

Again very important that the right colours are chosen to project the correct image for the brand.

16. Typefaces (Pick which fonts are to be used)

Again very important that the right typefaces are chosen to project the correct image for the brand.

17. Branding Guidelines

Once all the above is developed and approved we can then create a ‘Brand Guidelines’ guide for both internal and external use.

18. Offline CSS Brief (CSS - Cascading Style Sheet)

As above this ties in all the above relevant info our web development team need to project a consistent look online.
