I.P. Address Blocked

I.P. Address Blocked?

Every computer has an I.P. address. Sometimes for various reasons an I.P. address can be 'blocked' or  'blacklisted'. One way an I.P. address can become blocked is in the case of a user trying to set up an email account (on a mobile device for example) they may accidentally enter the incorrect user name or password too many times.

Then as a security feature the server at our end (where your website and email live) would see this as a possible sinister attempt by somebody (who isn't you!) to access either your website or email. So in a way it is a good thing that any attempts are blocked.

However, it can be a bad thing if in the case of a user trying (unsuccessfully) to set up an email account this leads to the I.P. address being blocked. This can apply also when you have somebody (such as your mobile phone network provider) try to set up the email on your phone for you on your behalf.

If they enter the incorrect details too many times they too will be blocked.

Thankfully this problem can be resolved in one of two way.

1. First of all try accessing your web page , or set up your email on your phone (from an entirely different location).

(obviously entering the correct details this time!)

2. If all else fails contact us and we will unblock your I.P. addess so that you can try again.

(in the case of mobile network network providers who's security protocols may not permit them to give out their I.P. address the onus would be on them to do the set up from a different I.P.)
